Why Choose the Blood Tests Instead of Other Cheap Tests for Your Pet’s Diagnostic Needs?

Blood tests are generally considered the best and most reliable diagnostic tool compared to other testing methods like hair analysis, DNA/genetic testing, electrodermal testing, bio-resonance, urine, saliva, or iridology for the following key reasons:

1. Accuracy and Reliability

  • Blood tests provide real-time data on what is happening in your pet’s body.

  • They measure actual concentrations of antibodies, hormones, nutrients, glucose, cholesterol, white/red blood cells, and many other biomarkers.

  • Lab standards for blood analysis are well established, regulated, and repeatable.

In contrast:

  • Hair analysis can reflect long-term exposure to heavy metals, but it's unreliable for nutrient levels or anything else.

  • Urine tests reflect only what's being excreted - not what's active in tissues.

  • Saliva tests may be useful for a few hormones, but are much less precise.

  • Iridology, electrodermal, and bio-resonance testing are not scientifically validated and have never been approved by veterinarians.

2. Comprehensive Testing Capability

  • Blood tests can screen for hundreds of conditions, from infections and anemia to organ function and autoimmune diseases.

  • You can measure liver enzymes, kidney function, thyroid hormones, electrolytes, immune markers, immunoglobulins (allergy and food intolerance) and more - all from one sample.

Others are far more limited:

  • Hair and saliva provide fewer measurable markers.

  • DNA/genetic testing shows potential risk, but not current health status.

  • Electrodermal/bio-resonance devices claim to detect “energy imbalances” without physical biomarkers - these are often pseudoscientific.

3. Clinical Validation

  • Blood testing has decades of peer-reviewed research and is used as the gold standard in hospitals and clinics.

  • It’s used in both routine and emergency care, reflecting its central role in diagnosis and monitoring.

By contrast:

  • Iridology, bio-resonance, and electrodermal tests lack scientific consensus or regulatory approval.

  • These are often marketed in alternative health settings, but are not evidence-based.

4. Diagnostic Timeliness

  • Blood tests can detect immediate changes in health: inflammation, infection, hormone fluctuations, organ stress, etc.

Other methods, like:

  • Hair analysis may reflect exposure over months - not useful for acute issues.

  • Genetic tests are static – your pet’s DNA doesn’t change, so they don’t tell you if your pet is currently sick or healthy.

5. Professional Oversight

  • Blood tests are usually conducted in clinical labs with professional oversight and interpretation by qualified medical professionals.

  • Results are actionable and used to guide treatment.

Whereas:

  • Many alternative tests are administered by unlicensed practitioners or laboratories and interpreted without medical rigor.

6. Ask yourself a question

  • I visited a doctor for lab work several times during my life. Have I been offered anything else but blood work? Never!

  • The same is for your pets.

Don’t waste your money on unapproved tests!
